摘要:This paper presents the design, implementaƟon andevaluaƟon of a new smartphone applicaƟon that is capableof real-Ɵme object detecƟon using both staƟonaryand moving cameras for embedded systems, parƟcularly,the Android smartphone plaƞorm. A new object detec-Ɵon approach, OpƟcal ORB, is presented which is capableof real-Ɵme performance at high definiƟon resolu-Ɵons on a smartphone. In addiƟon, the developed smartphoneapplicaƟon has the ability to connect to a remoteserver and wirelessly send image frames when movingobjects appear in the camera’s field of view; thus, allowingthe human operator to only view video frames thatare of interest. EvaluaƟon experiments show a capabilityof achieving real-Ɵme performance for high definiƟon(HD) resoluƟon video.
