摘要:Emotional intelligence training in a case of an adolescent victim of child maltreatment. Nowadays the study of emotional intelligence is a subject of great interest in the field of clinical psychology for its decisive influence on mental health. The current study evaluates the effectiveness of an interven- tion to improve coping with negative mood on a sixteen-year-old adolescent victim of child maltreatment. The emotional intelligence training proyect INTEMO was applied in a single case design. Four assessment instruments were administered before and after the intervention: the Trait Metamood Scale (TMMS-24) of Fernández-Berrocal, Extremera and Ramos (2004), the Schute Emotional Intelligence Scale (SEIS) of Schutte et al. (1998), the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) of Davis (1980), and the Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Scale (SREIS) of Brackett, Rivers, Shiffman, Lerner, and Salovey (2005). After 12 weekly sessions of intervention, results revealed a change in the emotional deficit pattern and effectiveness at promoting emotional skills in perceiving, facilitating, understanding, and managing emotions.
