摘要：This work aims to be an overview on the history and difficulties of the “Cortes de Cádiz”, from its previous call as well as the constitution of the boards, and the legislative work carried out by this assembly. Throughout the text we can appreciate the main achievements of this parliament: the 1812 Constitution, press freedom, the creation of the first groups understood as political parties and the presence of deputies from the American colonies considered as defenders of independence. This contributes to a better understanding of transition from Old Regime to the Liberal State, which was frustrated shortly afterwards due to Ferdinand VII’s policies.
