摘要:How far have social activism changed in the last two decades? What is the role of technological progress in shaping new, and very new social movements? Can we validly see the crowd as the representation of empowered and leading social action? Current expressions of social change invite to revisit old concepts in the social sciences. Crowdfunding can certainly help in this endeavor; for one, it helps with the visualization of these changes. By observing current practices of crowdfunding from the perspective of the social sciences we can do away with some useless abstractions to deepen in our understanding of new interfaces between technology and activism.
