摘要：A convenient in vitro screening test using E. coli B/r for evaluating a variety of hypoxic cell radiosensitizers/hypoxic cell cytotoxins has been developed for the initial selection of candidates in medicinal/organic chemistry laboratories. E. coli cells were used for convenience since : (1) the bacterium is grown using commercially available broths, where it multiplies repidly, and requires little specialized equipment for growth and handling. (2) More is known about the genetics and biochemistry of the radiation damage to these cells and their repair than any other organism.
