摘要：Multimedia materials often utilize various media formats, sizes, and contents, etc., making it difficult to treat them as a single item. In addition to the physical complexity of multimedia materials, the Nippon Cataloging Rules and Anglo-American Cataloging Rules seem to be insufficient for the cataloging of these items and their combined publications. With the goal of establishing a simple procedure for library users and library staff to access these materials, the author suggests treating a multimedia material in the same manner as ordinary book material, using a book-shaped container and some modifications to existing cataloging rules.
