摘要:The Keio University Library started subscribing electronic journals (e-journals) in 1998, and we had 4, 000 e-journal titles as of December 2001. However, the library has not compiled usage statistics, and the library does not have any manual of e-journals. There are many types of contracts, e. g., package, title by title, etc., and it is difficult to decide between the best choice of new e-journal products. This article describes the number of uses of IDEAL, Synergy, JBC, and PNAS packages, and some disadvantages of package contracts were discovered. The library expected that users would access a great number of titles in the package, but they only accessed a few. The library should aim to contract for titles that users want. Publishers are going to offer new products, and librarians will have to make the best decisions for users.
