摘要：A library management system via a campus LAN was introduced at the Shimane Medical University Library in January 1997. We service an online public access catalog (OPAC) on our home page. The OPAC home page edition provides a very simple and user-friendly interface. We plan to provide a variety of services using this Windows-NT-based new library management system. It is an open system, and thus we can provide research information to library users all over the world. Our library services via the LAN include OPAC and MEDLINE. These are information retrieval systems. By supplementing these services, we hope to supply original articles in digital format, e. g., PDF. We plan to provide library services on the home page as a service platform. In the near future, we hope to become a digital library.
