摘要:A microcomputer-based system was developed at Nara Medical University Library to access and download NACSIS-CAT, a Japanese online national bibliographic database, as well as to create a local database. Two Fujitsu FACOM 9450Σ mkII microcomputers (1MB main memory, 40MB hard disk) were used, one for downloading and transporting data to a floppy disk, and the other for maintaining, searching and printing after transcription of the data on the floppy disk into the format for this library. The program for the former was written in ILIS, a Fujitsu packaged software, and the one for the latter was written using business-oriented BASIC and COBOL software. The system proved efficient in recording, but slow in searching.
