摘要：The author reports the working procedures of “Union Catalog of Foreign Medical Books” (UC) 1981 edition. The UC 1981 and 1980 editions are different in the following points: (1) the use of the ISBN as a control-key for bibliographic date; (2) a change from master card to the MT file and the use of the ISBN as a matching-key in computer processing; (3) the use of LC MARC data and a decrease in the description of the Work-Sheet. First, we put into the ISBN every bibliographic dutum of the UC 1980 edition and refer to “Books in Print” and “NLM Current Catalog”. Second, as the ISBN has different numbers for the name of the publisher, the place of publication, binding etc., we design a way to select one of the different numbers in the ISBN. Third, we compara the LC tag with the UC tag and make a conversion table for the two tags.
