摘要:With its rapid increase in popularity, the Internet has become a new form of mass media covering the whole world. Compared with the other mass media such as TV, radio, and newspapers, the Internet has the advantage of being interactive. However, the current Internet has several limitations. Its network bandwidth is still too narrow to carry a full-motion video stream and because it is based on the client/server model, its servers require powerful processors to support the huge number of customers scattered over the Internet. As a result, we have to take care designing and implementing network services for the Internet. In this paper, we describe our experience in making a multimedia information feeding system for large-scale social events. A case study on the system for high-school baseball games in Koshien stadium is explained.
