摘要：The effects of dietary supplementation of pectin or pullulan on the Ca absorption in gastrointestinal tract and bone mineral contents in rats were studied. Three-week male Sprague-Dawley rats were separated into three groups and were fed diets (Ca, 0.3%) containing 5% of cellulose, pectin, or pullulan for 8 weeks. The Ca concentration in plasma, amount of Ca intake, Ca excretion in feces, and Ca absorption were not affected by dietary pectin or pullulan. Also, dry weight and length of femur, and ash weight or amount, Ca and P contents in femur, osteocalcin concentration in plasma, and the amount of pyridinoline excretion in urine were not affected by dietary supplementation of pectin or pullulan. These results suggested that pectin and pullulan are not effective on Ca absorption and bone mineral contents in young rats.
