摘要:Pseudomonas sp. strain L-1 grew well on trans Stilbene (ST), benzaldehyde, benzoic acid, catechol, p-hydroxybenzoic acid and protocatechuic acid. However, stilbene oxide, styrene, styrene oxide and other various hydroxybenzoic acids did not promote growth. Degradation of ST by strain L-1 began with ST double bond cleavage through incorporation of molecular oxygen. The resulting benzaldehyde was found in the culture supernatant with ST. The generated benzaldehyde was transformed to benzoic acid. In the following oxidation process, benzoic acid was transformed to catechol and p-hydroxybenzoic acid. From the results, a degradation pathway of ST in strain L-1 was proposed.
