  • 摘要:The present study was carried out to examine the effects of 14 so-called health foods on hepatic functions in vivo, and on hepatic aminopyrine N-demethylase (APD) activity and reactivity with glutathione (GSH) in vitro. At 24 hours after oral treatment of male mice with a large dose (5.0g/kg) of each sample, none was found to have had any effect on the activities of plasma alkaline phosphatase and transaminases (GOT and GPT). Water extract from one of the 14 samples had an inhibitory effect on APD activity in vitro, which decreased when the water extract was heated or trichloroacetic acid was added to it. Two of the water extracts had high reactivities with GSH and the other four extracts had slight ones. These findings suggest that some of the so-called health foods could influence hepatic APD activity and GSH content in vito, though a large single oral dose did not cause hepatic injury.
