  • 摘要:Vibrio cholerae non-Ol strains were isolated from 276 of 345 river-water samples, and 48 of 159 river-sediment samples, from April 1982 to March 1984 in Osaka city. Non-Ol strains were found in 90 to 100% of the cases from the river-water samples at 4 points: Akagawa bridge, Sakuranomiya bridge, Syoan bridge, and Mutsumi bridge out of the twelve bridges in the area, and 98.2% of the cases from the samples taken at the Kyu-yodo river out of the four rivers checked. Isolation rates of non-Ol strains from the rivers in May to October, and in December to March were 75 to 100%, and 25 to 79%, respectively, and water temperatures of the former were higher than the latter. Toxinogenicity of the V. cholerae Ol and non-Ol strains were examined by the reverse passive latex agglutination (RPLA) method with or without any antitoxin treatment on the culture supernatant. Toxinogenicity test of five Ol strains isolated from the patients with diarrhea, seventy Ol strains from environmental samples, and 380 non-Ol strains were 100%, 71.4%, and 70.5% positive without any antitoxin treatment, respectively. Non-specific reaction of RPLA on the culture supernatant of Ol and non-Ol strains from environmental samples was found in 11.4% and 8.2%, respectively. The results regarding the thirteen V. mimicus strains, as a reference, was 30.8% positive, without any non-specific reaction being observed. Neutralization of the culture supernatant by the antitoxin treatment was found in 100% of the Ol strain from five patients, in 90% of the twenty environmental Ol strains, in 80% of the twenty environmental non-Ol strains, and in 75% of the four V. mimicus strains. All Ol strains were resistant to Polymixin B and Colistin, but 79.2% and 70.3% of 313 non-Ol strains were resistant to Polymixin B and Colistin, respectively. The rates of the strains with each resistant pattern to these non-Ol strains were 50.8% on Polymixin B-Colistin, 22.7% on Ampicillin, and 15% on Polymixin B-Colistin-Ampicillin.
