摘要:Acid components which are present in suspended particulate matters in the air of Osaka City were investigated. The acid components were determined by an acid-base neutralizing titration method and were indicated as the concentration(μg/m3) of sulfuric acid. A comparative study of the concentrations of acid components between industrial area A and residential area B in the city revealed that the latter was always had a higher value than the former regardless of seasons and years. In addition, sulfate ion and ammonium ion were determined by both barium chloride turbidimetry and indophenol method, and possible correlation between each concentration of these ions and the concentration of acid components was investigated. In consequence, it was found that there was a high correlation between sulfate ion and ammonium ion regardless of seasons and years and that there was a slightly bad correlation in 1977 but a good correlation in 1978 between the concentrations of acid components and each concentration of these ions.
