摘要:The significance of BSC in laboratory animals exposed to lead under various conditions was reevaluated from the data of experiments conducted so far at our department. The results showed that: 1. In the comparative toxicity study by oral administration of lead compounds to dogs, the degree of increase in BSC count was larger in the lead sulfide and lead hydroxycarbonate groups than in the lead chloride group. 2. In the study on the effect of a hot environment on the manifestation of lead poisoning in rabbits, BSC increased in the lead and leadl-lhot environ mental groups. There was, however, no difference in the incidence of BSC count between the two groups. 3. A marked increase in BSC count in the group of rats received solid feed containing 5% lead acetate with a rapid decrease after cessation of administration. It may be concluded that BSC count is still useful index of considerable degree of lead exposure in the experiment using laboratory animals such as dogs, rabbits and rats.
