摘要：Growth of Rhodotorula glutinis var. salinaria was severely inhibited by CuSO4 and CdSO4 at final cocentration of each 1 mM and 0.1 mM. In these cases, copper and cadmium uptake ccurredin the cells, and the content in the cells increased as the heavy metal concentration increased. Recovery growth was seen in the presence of the heavy metals when CE was added at acon centration of at least 0.1mg/ml, especially, CE enhanced the recovery growth as compared with YE in the same concentration. Also, at the same time, the heavy metals content in the cells decreased with add ition of CE, uptake and toxicity of the heavy metals were markedly reduced. These responses were not directly dependent on the respiratory system.
