摘要：Individual variables found to be significant from a correlation analysis are analyzed as a function of probability of avalanching for data from Kootenay Pass, British Columbia. The analysis is compared with a similar study for data from Alta, Utah, U.S.A. The results show that the variable significance is very similar for the two areas. Primary variables include: snowfall rate, weight of new snow, water equivalent of new precipitation, total storm snow and new snow depth. Secondary variables include wind speed and direction, and new-snow density.
