摘要:Corporate Social Responsibility emerged to expand the responsibility of companies. In addition to producing goods and services to society, obtaining a profit and ensuring the continuity of its business, the organization shall also have the aspect of legal liability and compliance with the rules; ethical responsibility, which relates to a component guiding the other dimensions; and discretionary responsibility introducing philanthropy to the company's activities. After recognizing that their responsibility is not limited to the economic issue, but also the social and environmental aspects, organizations began to incorporate sustainability practices in their businesses. The maturity models serve to orient and guide companies in the advancement of this process, in order to achieve advanced stages of incorporating sustainability in business. Based on the concept of CSR and corporate sustainability, the objective of this theoretical essay is to promote a discussion on the incorporation of sustainability initiatives in organizations, through theoretical research on maturity models of Corporate Sustainability. From seven models focusing on sustainability, a maturity model containing more general sustainability initiatives has been prepared, which is the contribution of this essay.
