标题：Biyoloji Öğretmen Adaylarının Türkçe ve Yabancı Biyoloji Terimlerini Kullanım Tercihleri/Candidates of Biology Teacher’ Preferences for Usage of Turkish and Foreign Biology Terms

摘要：Özet Yabancı kökenli biyoloji terimlerinin gündelik dile girişi, dildeki yabancı kökenli kelimelerin yoğunluğunu arttırarak kavram bütünlüğünün oluşmasını zorlaştırmaktadır. Bunun yanında, biyolojide bazı terimlerin Türkçe karşılıkları olduğu halde yabancı terimlerin kullanılmasında ısrar edilmesi, biyoloji öğrenmek isteyenlerin yabancı terimlere bağımlığını arttırmaktadır. Bu çalışma, biyoloji öğretmen adaylarının eş anlamlı (Türkçe ve Latince) biyoloji terim çiftlerinden hangilerini daha fazla tercih ettikleri ortaya koymak amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın örneklemini 2014–2015 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Atatürk Üniversitesi’nde üçüncü, dördüncü ve beşinci sınıflarda öğrenim gören toplam 71 biyoloji öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan toplam 72 eş anlamlı terimden oluşan bir anketten yararlanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde f ve % değerlerden yararlanılmıştır. Analizlerden elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğretmen adaylarının Türkçe terimlerden 13 tanesini sıklıkla tercih ederken, 9 terimi eşit düzeyde (ortak) ve 50 terimi ise daha az düzeyde kullandıkları yani yabancı terimlerin kullanımının oldukça yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. The entry of foreign origin biology terms to everyday language make difficult the formation of the concept integrity by increasing the density of foreign origin words in language. In addition, the insistence on the use of foreign terms while some biology terms has the Turkish equivalent is increasing the dependence on foreign term for those who want to learn biology. The aim of this study is to determine what synonym biology terms (Turkish and Latin) terms are preferred more by biology student teachers. The sampling consists of the 71 biology student teachers in their third, fourth and fifth at Ataturk University, during 2014-2015 spring semester. A questionnaire with 72-synonym terms, which was developed by researchers, was used to collect the data. The data were analyzed using f and % values. The findings indicated that student teachers frequently preferred 13 of Turkish terms and 9 of Turkish terms in equal (medium). The findings also indicated that the student teachers used lower level 50 of Turkish terms, another words, usage of foreign terms by student teachers was in very high level.
