摘要:Self-reflection competences are central to lifelong guidance counsellors so they can constantly observe and continue to develop their own professional practice. But what does self-reflection actually mean? What do lifelong guidance counsellors reflect on? And to what extent do reflections reveal areas in which the learning process can be improved? The article takes an explorative, empirical approach to answering these questions. It evaluates twelve cases of documentation and reflection by lifelong guidance counsellors that were written as part of a continuing education programme offered in Germany. It appears that the counsellors viewed their counselling as successful, whereby the success of counselling is proportionate to subjective opinion. An unsuccessful intervention is perceived as an area in which the learning process can be improved and organizational conditions in particular are experienced as restrictive. (Ed.)
