摘要:This article presents a competence balancing method for continuing vocational education and training (CVET) staff, and more specifically, the competence passport for CVET teachers and trainers at the Volkswagen Bildungsinstitut GmbH. In contrast to many other methods, it focuses on the teaching and/or administrative staff, and it examines their competences, where they were acquired or how they can be further developed. The article explores these questions by looking at several examples. It begins by describing how this competence balancing method works and the methodology behind the development of the competence passport, and then turns to a detailed consideration of the work situations of nine CVET teachers and trainers at the Volkswagen Bildungsinstitut GmbH. The article concludes with a discussion of the possibilities and limits of using a competence passport.
