摘要:Based on her years of practical experience and research, the author provides insight into the premises behind the work of Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed. The main priority is to understand theatre as politics and a form of communication and art as an instrument for obtaining knowledge of a changeable reality. Thus artistic and scientific processes must go hand in hand. The article is rounded off by remarks on Boal’s aesthetic education as part of a holistic as well as sustainable peacemaking education. As the author indicates, Boal follows Paulo Freire’s educational theory as well as Moshé Feldenkrais’s method for learning. The goal must be the humanization of humanity: Whoever becomes aware of internalized patterns, attitudes, beliefs and experiences on a physical as well as psychological level creates space for something new.
