  • 摘要:The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze opinions of music therapists practicing in the United States, regarding various music therapy approaches currently being utilized with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Music therapy approaches were analyzed for possible correlations between music therapists’ preferences, and opinions regarding the effectiveness of music therapy approaches for the use with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Results showed that Behavioral Approach, Sensory Integration Approach to Music Therapy and Creative Music Therapy were found as most preferred and most effective music therapy approaches. Although Behavioral Approach was the primary preference of music therapists; Sensory Integration Approach was reported as the most effective approach for the use with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The future research about these approaches are needed and recommended.
