摘要:The development of modeling skills is a very important issue in Science teaching nowadays. The present work illustrates how, from the simplest equations of hydrodynamics, it is possible to contribute to this end. Bernoulli and continuity equations are included in the Physics syllabus of Secondary and university levels, and can be seen as a linking between general and professional education. Along the proposed project, the student is taken through general stages which are present in any engineering project or research work based on modeling and simulation. We have thought of these stages as: the emerging of the initial intuitive idea, the statement of the Physics model, the computational exploration of the equations and the comparison of theory versus experiments. This kind of project contributes directly to the development of modeling skills and also to some others typical skills of the scientist´s and engineer´s profiles nowadays, such as fitting and graphing analysis. It is common to see that secondary and first year university courses lack of this intention explicitly, the courses do not contribute directly to the formation of modeling skills in the students, they rather involve the contribution to particular skills from the different subjects. On the other hand, students are usually more motivated for the modeling of situations closer to the daily life than for idealized ones.
