摘要:The conjugal transmission of plasmid ColE1 and its derivatives can lead to recA-independent recombination. The recombination is not observed during vegetative growth and takes place specifically between the sequences that are thought to represent the transfer origin of ColE1. This provides genetic evidence for breakage and reunion events during the transmission of ColE1.
