摘要:The detailed study of 5-Chloroisatin derivative against the corrosion of mild steel in a 1MH3PO4 solution at 303 K was carried out using the method of weight loss measurements,Tafel polarization techniques, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and alsoscanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the 5-chloro-1- (2-(dimethylamino) ethyl) indoline-2,3-dione (Indo1) is a good inhibitor and its inhibitionefficiency reached 91% at 10-3M. Polarization measurements revealed that the 5-chloro-1-(2- (dimethylamino) ethyl) indoline-2,3-dione behaves as mixed-type. The adsorption of 5-chloro-1 (2(dimethylamino) ethyl) indoline-2,3-dione on a mild steel surface obeys theLangmuir isotherm, has been studied at different temperatures. The kinetic parameters, andthermodynamic activations for the corrosion of mild steel, respectively, were calculated anddiscussed.
