摘要:Cobalt oxide (Co3O4) thin films were deposited on amorphous glass substrates byspray pyrolysis method. The as deposited films were annealed at temperature rangingfrom 300 to 500°C. The characterization of samples was carried out by X-Raydiffraction, scanning electron microscopy, UV-VIS spectroscopy and electricalconductivity. Results showed that all the films were polycrystalline spinel type cubicstructure. The preferred orientation of the crystallites changed from (111) for the asdeposited films to (311) after annealing treatments. The scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images showed nanocrystalline grains size with porous structure. The opticaltransmittance and the electrical conductivity increased slightly with increasing theannealing temperature, indicating an improvement of the crystallinity of the films.The temperature dependence of the dc conductivity gave evidence of a transportmechanism based on the three dimensional Mott’s variable-range hopping.
