摘要:The corrosion inhibition performance of indazole derivative namely 1-benzyl-6-nitro-1H-indazole (P1) on mild steel corrosion in 1M HCl has been studied using gravimetric, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), Potentiodynamic polarization, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), DFT and Monte Carlo simulation. The corrosion inhibition efficiency at optimum concentration (10-3M) is 91% (P1). P1 obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm. SEM analyses supported formation of protective film on mild steel in presence of inhibitor. DFT and Monte Carlo simulation calculations supported experimental results.
