摘要:Initial results from the new, IAB-ZEW-'Working World 4.0'-survey of businesses in Germany show that fifty per cent of firms already use advanced digital technologies. It turns out that service-providers use these technologies more often than manufacturers. This can mainly be explained by high utilisation levels in the field of information and communication technologies and knowledge-intensive services. By contrast, small producers use these technologies less frequently. Initial results from the survey suggest that these firms do not see advanced digital technologies as presenting opportunities with respect to offering new products and services, or in relation to increasing productivity or reducing costs.
