摘要：The paper asks whether regime shift has influenced causal relation between energy consumption and economic growth in Nigeria. Accounting for structural break in an autoregressive distributed lag cum error correction model the results indicates that there is unidirectional relation from energy consumption to growth in Nigeria. Also, government type has positive but statistically insignificant influence in the relationship, and that the economy shows high speed of adjustment from disequilibrium. Besides the causal relation between sectoral outputs and energy consumption tend to be similar and do not reveal any significant different pattern of behaviour. Essentially, energy consumption and growth nexus in Nigeria does not suggest any time-variation.
