  • 摘要:This online experiment investigated possible effects of interviewer’s seniority and gender on potential applicant’s perception in job interviews. Results show that interviewers with a certain seniority (older, more job experience, higher ranks in the organisation’s hierarchy) were perceived as more professional and more socially competent by potential applicants. Male interviewers benefit more from that effect than female ones. The perceived professionality and social competence as well as the organisation’s rating as a possible employer were also positively influenced by the interviewer’s physical appearance (being well groomed, adequately dressed and attractive).
