摘要:The inhibition of mild steel corrosion in 1M HCl of 6-bromo-1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2(3H) one (P2) has been studied at various concentrations using mass loss, polarization technique, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and quantum chemical calculations. The mass loss, potentiostatic polarization and EIS results showed that inhibition efficiency (E%) was raised with an increase in concentration of P2 and polarization study also revealed that compound P2 acted as mixed type inhibitor. Adsorption process of the P2 on mild steel surface was found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Furthermore, calculations from quantum chemical methods were found to be supportive for the results obtained from experimental studies.
