摘要:Cronobacter spp. causes meningitis, sepsis, and necrotizing enterocolitis in neonates and infants. Cronobacter spp. infections have been epidemiologically associated with consumption of reconstituted powdered infant formula. In this study, the modified PCR method for the rapid detection of Cronobacter spp. were performed. Detection limit of PCR assay for Cronobacter spp. was determined to be 10 2 CFU/mL directly and 1 CFU/mL after 4-h of enrichment step in infant formula. The result showed that the modified PCR based technique described in this study was found more rapid and sensitive than the conventional methods for detection of Cronobacter spp. from infant formula.
