摘要：Tullio Viola: One of the most relevant aspects of your intellectual career isyour reflection on the link between historical and normative arguments withregard to values. This reflection goes back at least to your 1997 book The Genesisof Values, and may be seen to culminate in the methodological chapter of your2011 book on The Sacredness of the Person, in which you talk about the needfor an “affirmative genealogy” of values. As you have made clear many times(most recently in the article “Pragmatismus und Historismus” in the DeutscheZeitschrift für Philosophie for 2015, published in English in the new volume“The Timeliness of G. H. Mead” that you yourself edited together with DanielHuebner), this historicist argument has many points of contact with pragmatism.
