摘要：Addiction is the addiction of the use of harmful substances, which produce adverse effects on physical and psychological health. It is an exploratory - descriptive cross - sectional study, with a sample of 658 members of 74 families of adolescents; the instrument is a family register, the results showed the following drug addictions: 18% alcoholism, 25% smoking, 41% self-medication, 8% drugs. In conclusion, self-medication causes allergic reactions, bacterial resistance to antibiotics, cardiac, dermatological, nervous and gastrointestinal effects, 150 people die in Mexico daily because of one of the 40 diseases related to smoking, which represents one death every ten minutes, in addition, the country spends 30 billion pesos per year to address these problems.
