摘要:Systems that take the form of graphs of nodes and edges are common in various fields of study such as biology, and social and organizational studies. Typically, these systems exhibit community structure that corresponds to modular decomposition of functionality and common features of interest. In this paper, we endeavor to contribute to the efforts to enhance the visual representation of community structure. We propose refinements to the visual layout produced by force-layout model and treemap to foster desirable visual properties. Experiments are conducted on real world datasets to show the effectiveness of our approach and discuss its impact on the system overall performance.
