This research work compares reliable journal and research quality indicators accepted by the scientific community for evaluation and assessment of scientific journals in the field of civil engineering. Indicators of merit included: Journal Impact Factor (JIF) and other bibliometric indicators that are used to evaluate quality ranking for journals using more algorithms that are complex and other databases. The main objective of this study is to evaluate certain current (2015) indices of journal scientific impact namely: JIF, Eigenfactor Score (ES), and SCImago Journal Rank indicator (SJR) for ranking and judging the quality of civil engineering journals. Specific civil engineering journals were nominated from their category within Web of Science. The 2016 JIFs and ESs were obtained from Journal Citation Report and the SJR from the SCImago Journal and country rank website. Selected journals were listed and their related information retrieved by matching and fitting their international standard serial number (ISSN). Correlations between indices (JIF, ES, SJR and H5 Index) were evaluated using Pearson statistical correlation through SPSS program 21.0. 127 civil engineering journals were identified, all indexed in WoS and Scopus databases. The highest JIF was 5.288 and the lowest reached 0.033. According to Eigenfactor score, the first place in the ranking was 0.0973 and the lowest reached 0.00004, and as to SJR, the first rank achieved 3.905 and the last position went to 0.104. None of the journals had the same ranking to compare different indicators.
