标题：Mérida: La Ciudad Letrada. La recreación de la memoria cultural de la ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros de Mérida en la película La Ciudad de Los Escribanos de José Velasco
摘要：This article presents a hermeneutics of investigations, works, themes, techniques and symbols that underlie the eff ort to communicate from the fi lm some aspects of the cultural memory of the city of Merida, in Venezuela is exposed, and the Hispanic tradition in America Latin, recreated in the fi lm City Scribes Jose Velasco. Th e Spanish eighteenth century, for writing the script, narrative text and contextualization of the work, and recreation of key aspects of the memory of the city such: the emphasis on the history and language of the time stands such as: host an ancient center of higher education, the tradition of books, libraries, reading, writing, scribes, poets, landscape, love, the presence of civic hero and denouncing the destruction caused by wars. Th is work recreates themes of a shared cultural tradition with other cities in Latin America. At the end an educational proposal for the project to Merida, Educating City and Knowledge is made.
