  • 摘要:Time interpolation of surface winds is important for ocean modeling. A simple and robust time interpolation method for both stationary and propagating surface disturbances is developed. Propagation vectors of the disturbances are evaluated on all grid points in two sea level pressure maps. The data are interpolated on the grid points from the propagation vectors. The root‐mean‐square deviation for the interpolation method is smaller than that for linear time interpolation. This method is more effective than linear interpolation as disturbances move faster. The energy of the predicted inertial currents using the proposed interpolation method is significantly different from that using the linear time interpolation.
