摘要:This paper presents the advantages that the performance determination of wind actions from methods based in computational fluid dynamics has in the structural design of buildings with tapered or complex geometry. The analysis of the wind flow behaviour in lighter and more ethereal architectural and structural designs by means of advanced simulation tools, that use a wide theoretical ground based in fluid dynamics and continuum, has made possible to minimise the impact of wind loads in the size of the main structural elements. This paper shows the work methodologies that have allowed to optimize the main structure of the new Cycle track of Medellin, in Colombia.
