摘要：In a global change context, several recent advances in the field of hydrology and biogeochemistry suggest that a move from a riparian to a river drainage basin perspective is necessary to reframe research and thus provide a more integrated scientific understanding to inform water- and land-use management and policy. We explore this assertion using the control of diffuse pollution as an exemplar.
