摘要：A gestão de resíduos sólidos tem sido debatida com muita freqüência após a aprovação da Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS), em 2010. As instituições de ensino, pesquisa e prestação de serviços são também geradoras de resíduos e devem atender as exigências legais e técnicas. Nestas instituições considerando suas práticas laboratoriais são gerados resíduos diversos e que apresentam periculosidade. Desta forma, como as indústrias de transformação, estas instituições precisam elaborar seus planos de gerenciamento e desenvolver ações para sua implantação. O presente trabalho objetiva a apresentação de um sistema de gerenciamento de resíduos proposto para uma instituição de pesquisa. Como parte do sistema de gerenciamento foi feito um diagnóstico que apontou a necessidade de medidas prioritárias em certos laboratórios e de um sistema de gerenciamento de resíduos de laboratórios (SGRL), cuja implantação e operação devem envolver diversos setores da instituição. O sistema proposto tem como objetivos atender as exigências da legislação e do mercado quanto às questões ambientais, reduzindo os desperdícios e como conseqüência melhorando a imagem da instituição.↓After the approval of the National Solid Waste (PNRs) in 2010, the solid waste management has been widely discussed.
