摘要：Osteoporosis and its clinical consequences the fractures are among the main contributors of increased morbidity and increased mortality among elderly people. After the age of 50 years every second female and 1 out of 5 males during the rest of their life time will have a low energy fracture. Patients with several inflammatory rheumatic joint diseases and endocrinological diseases have been shown to have an increased risk for osteoporosis and low energy fracture. The burden of the osteoporosis bone disease for both individuals (morbidity and mortality) and society (costs) is high.
