摘要：This paper discuss about the general aspects of Agency Theory, its relevance to the study of government-university relationship and a survey of previous studies that utilise the theory. It begins with a review of scholarly literature explaining the conception of Agency Theory, its theoretical framework and its underlying assumptions. Next, it discusses the applicability of theory and how it has proved to be an appropriate framework for analysing the relationship between both government and universities .
