摘要：In recent years the issue “Socially Responsible Investments - SRI has been gaining a substantial space in the media and in the academic and corporate world. It is being discussed how an investor, through such socially responsible investments, can congregate his financial interests with issues regarding the social environmental responsibility. At the center of such discussion are the pension funds which, as institutional investors, have exercised a strong influence in the market, regarding the adoption of social environmental responsibility practices. In this sense, trough an exploratory and descriptive research, this article tries to analyze the current practices adopted by the Brazilian pension funds, in relation to Socially Responsible Investments - SRI and evaluate the growth expectations and SRI diversification of those companies, so that they may contribute more and more for the country’s development, complying with the wishes of their members and of the society in gene↓O tema “Investimentos Socialmente Responsáveis” (ISR) vem ganhando uma crescente atenção meio acadêmico e no mundo empresarial. Os fundos de pensão estão naturalmente em foco neste debate sobre como o investidor pode compatibilizar seus interesses financeiros com a responsabilidade sócio ambiental e eles podem ter grande influência no mercado neste aspecto. Baseando-nos em uma pesquisa exploratória, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as atuais práticas adotadas pelos fundos de pensão brasileiros no que diz respeito à ISR. Como resultado, constata-se que aquelas organizações já vem incorporando esta nova orientação ao lado de critérios sócio-econômicos.
