摘要：In this paper, we expose the main results of an investigation whose goal is to characterize the expression and reconstruction of the underlying ideology in the journalistic discourse of a Cuban periodical publication, following the methodology of Ideological Analysis of Discourse, as proposed by Teun van Dijk. From a neutral perspective, ideology is defined as a cognitive system defining the self-identity of the ingroup through a handful of six basic categories: identity criteria, typical activities, aims, norms and values, related groups and basic resources. For the textual analysis, the semantic macrostructures, speech acts and other local meaning structures of discourse are considered. It is demonstrated how, from the semantic and pragmatic discourse levels, convictions and opinions with ideological implications relevant to the definition of the Cuban social system are (re)produced.
