摘要：In 2005, the Diccionario panhispánico de dudas paid special attention to the use of foreign words in Spanish to reconsider their convenience and to offer native alternatives and/or recommended possibilities, etc. Nine years later (2014), the Real Academia Española published the 23rd edition of the Diccionario de la lengua española, becoming necessary to assess the actual threatment of the so-called “innecesary or avoidable foreign words” of the DPD. The present study therefore evaluates these words in the new dictionary evaluating whether the alternatives of the DPD have eventually made their way in Spanish or whether the use of foreign words have been subject to change.
