摘要：The world is becoming a global village of intercon-nected electronic devices. With the cost of silicon going down, the number of connected devices is increasing day by day. With introduction of Internet of Things concept, embedded devices are finding their way into this global network. Eventually, more elaborate techniques would be required to maintain the security and privacy in this interconnected world. Application of Cryptographic techniques in embedded systems is now indispensable. This paper surveys the concerns and the constraints that need to be taken care of while selecting a particular cryptographic algorithm for embedded systems. We present an overview of cryptography and embedded systems. Then we provide some of the constraints in embedded systems development. In the end, we provide a survey of how different cryptographic techniques perform in an embedded environment.
